TOP is simple and easy to work with:
Click on left bar, up left “new project” tab (and no extra clicks necessary)
Write the name of your project
Start to define your main deliverables first by pressing enter
Whenever you want, you can write your project scope statement or project charter “develop project charter”
You can travel with cursor or alt+cursor between cells
You can minimize or maximize columns on the top of the table (small triangles)
After rolling down your WBS, and have your first draft schedule…
… Estimate costs (1 = 1h; 1,5 = 1h30m) per task/activity or work package (WP) by minimizing or maximizing columns
Allocate a risk per task, activity or WP risk (1, 2 or 3) according to the level of knowledge (1 = easy, 2 = medium, 3 hard)
Allocate resources very easily just by moving the cursor or create new ones directly
We can help you in case you want to do more by the book (PMI methods)
You can start to give a name to your project and then click in “develop project charter” (PMBOK Guide 4.1, page 75)
It will show a window with 4 tabs:
Business case
Benefit management plan
Assumptions log
Project charter
Try to fill the best way as possible and you’ll do it by the book (initiating process group, PMBOK Guide, page 561)
In the end, you finish project charter and you'll have the first inputs to develop the project management plan
Project charter is an important document issued by the project initiator or sponsor (e.g., the manager) that formally authorizes the existence of a project and provide its manager the authority to apply the organization resources to project activities (PMBOK Guide, page 715)

Gantt Chart integration is one of our best features
It works simultaneously with our main table and budget
In Gantt, user can see the entire timeline and minimize levels and packages
It can stipulate start dates, milestones and deadlines with helpful color that indicates need for resource leveling or fast tracking
While your are already planning, just hit the “ID” column and you can allocate the resource you need. If it's only material and there’s no specific owner, you don’t need to allocate to no one, just write the value on “material costs” columns
If you haven't yet created the resources, then you can either create directly while you're planning (ID column will lead you to choose or create a member or user) or go to the left bar/resources/HR register and create or edit all your human resources

You can also allocate a client when you are registering a new client invitation on your project (when starting a project and defined in the project charter)
Material costs work as independent resources, don’t need a human resource allocation to enter on Gantt or budget
Just click the value in “mat. costs” and described as a WP/activity/task
Adjust the fast track time, duration and deadline with Gantt chart help in activity feed
If in any case you want to share with or monitor your outsource team, you can always give an account as members or TLs and allocate resources as part of the team's project
In this last case, it’s necessary to register in HR register the new outsource members with their own working time, as external and the country time they are in
Budgets are done automatically by default while we are creating a plan as long as we set up the resources in the registers right (left bar) and give the estimated time and risks for tasks
Estimated time calculates the value that each project team member cost and send it directly to budget
Risk, as level of knowledge, will adjust the personal overrun on estimations
By this time, there is a baseline budget automatically
After, you’ll need to set up the major risks directly on metrics tab, budget, or at the left bar/risks/risk register
The risks on register will increase a cost on contingency
You don’t have a project yet? And you want to start with a budget?
That’s not the best recommendation, but you can do it, of course
Just go to “metrics” tab and hit budget, it’s editable so you can just fill out there directly
Curiously, when you make the budget directly, you also fill in the table and Gantt since, in TOP, everything is connected, like a true I4.0 software
